ROBIN Briggs has been appointed Managing Director of BMG – part of the Engineering Solutions Group (ESG) business segment of Invicta Holdings Limited.

ESG, a distributor of engineering consumable products, technical services and solutions, encompasses BMG (an engineering consumables company), the Man-Dirk Group (specialists in the tool and equipment sector), Screen Doctor (vibrating equipment and materials handling solutions), Autobax (ESG’s reach into the automotive after-market), OST Africa (vibrator motors, tensioners and suspension systems) and Hansen Transmission (industrial gearbox units).

According ot the company, Briggs brings to BMG a wealth of product knowledge, a thorough understanding of global distribution networks, and a determination to achieve clearly defined goals.

“Robin, who was previously Managing Director of NSK in South Africa, has a proven track record for excellent personal performance and strong leadership skills. Robin believes that team growth is central to a successful company. He has an open and participative management style, with a clear vision outside the traditional constraints of business,” the company said in a statement.

Briggs started his career in the industrial sector after obtaining a national diploma in mechanical engineering. He then completed a Professional Management Programme (PMP), an Advanced Professional Management Programme (APMP) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) through the University of South Africa (UNISA).

He has obtained various certificates from organisations, including the Wits Business School and regularly attends internal training and development courses hosted by global leaders in the industry. He plans to complete a Doctorate, utilising his experience and understanding of the industry.
