HIGH quality, sustainable social infrastructure is vital to the socioeconomic development of South Africa and its people.
That’s according to Shawn Gama, CEO of Zimile Consulting Engineers, who believes childcare services are a crucial part of this. With this in mind, the company recently completed building the Ezinembeni Creche in Mkhambathini Local Municipality, based in at Camperdown, KwaZulu-Natal.
Zimile was appointed to undertake the civil, structural and geotechnical services.
“While the final completion of the project has been achieved and certificates of practical completion issued on September 18, 2020, the project is in its defect liability period until September 2021,” said Gama.
“With a strong track record in property development and municipal infrastructure, we have always been confident that we had the capabilities to see this valuable project through to successful completion.”
In addition to the services provided for the creche development, Gama said the firm has proven capabilities in water resource and infrastructure development; buildings and structures; transportation infrastructure, as well as asset management.
Zimile complies with the ISO 9001 – 2015 Quality Management System, allowing the firm to meet international quality standards.
“We make use of the latest technology to support our processes, which allows us to fast-track projects and provide innovative solutions,” Gama said, adding that this includes environmental screening and mapping technology.
“The Ezinembeni Creche project will benefit from this innovation, which will in turn benefit the wider community. Quality childcare infrastructure is vital, as it empowers parents to continue to seek economic and employment opportunities with the confidence that their children are cared for.”
