Digital technologies company Makwa IT Technologies has been certified as a Cisco Gold Partner in South Africa, the first 100% black and youth-owned company in South Africa to achieve this status.
Founded in 2012, Makwa IT Technologies is one of the youngest and fastest growing technology companies in South Africa with a client portfolio which includes the financial services, mining, construction, safety and security sectors as well as national and local government.
“We are absolutely excited to be certified as Cisco Gold Partner in Mzansi. Our nation is facing multiple challenges, including high unemployment and declining productivity,” said said Lethabo Mokone.
“There is growing optimism, however, as the arrival of the 4th Industrial Revolution overlaps with a renewal of political will to address the fundamental socio-economic and development issues facing the country with the help of digital technologies.”
He said the Cisco partnership presents “an incredible opportunity for us to be market leaders in helping address several macro-economic, societal and technological challenges in South Africa, which include low economic growth, growing unemployment and dwindling competitiveness”.
The company planned to leverage the Cisco recognition to “bring better global solutions” to its customers, as well as grow its footprint both domestically and abroad.
