Home Events Date set for premier wood and woodworking expo

WOODEX for Africa 2024, the subcontinent’s premier timber trade exhibition, will take place from June 4 to 6 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand. It has become the gateway to Africa’s wood and woodworking machinery industry. The exhibition will showcase a comprehensive range, from cutting-edge CNC machines to fittings and finishes, laminates and timber boards, MDF, portable sawmills, software, and various other timber and sawmilling products.

Stephan Jooste, founder, and show director, says, “It’s both a privilege and an honour to be part of this pivotal event—the only dedicated business-to-business meeting place remaining for the wood and woodworking machinery industry in South Africa. I would also like to once again extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the local and international visitors whose steadfast support has propelled WoodEX for Africa forward for so many years. Here’s to many more years of collaboration and growth.”

Last year, exhibitors and visitors from around the globe gathered at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, reaffirming the show’s enduring success since its humble beginnings in 2012. Several leading anchor exhibitors have been consistent participants, resulting in numerous signed deals and strengthened relationships.

The overwhelmingly positive feedback received on the day and through the post-show survey attests to the success of the event, with both visitors and exhibitors expressing their intent to participate again in 2024.

Last year also marked the second collaboration with Big 5 Construct South Africa, underscoring a strategic partnership that has proven to be significant and positive. Jooste says this collaboration sets the right course for growth, providing added value and enhancing the overall experience for both visitors and exhibitors.

By exhibiting at WoodEX for Africa, companies, organisations, and visitors can tap into the growth potential of the African market and connect with key decision-makers, buyers, dealers, and suppliers.

Visitors can expect to see more of the following at this year’s event:

  • CNC router and milling machines
