Banking on success in KZN business awards

Home Business Management Finance & Investment Banking on success in KZN business awards

A familiarity with ordinary South Africans, especially in rural areas of KwaZulu-Natal, led to Ithala SOC Limited being nominated in the “Top Brand” category of the 2021 KwaZulu-Natal Top Business Awards.

That’s according to Ithala CEO Dr Thulani Vilakazi, who said said, “We take our community and social responsibility role seriously. If Ithala clinches this award, it will be an honour and provide more motivation for us to raise and empower the KZN communities with our various financial programmes”.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the awards – which celebrate successful KZN businesses – will allow a limited number of people to attend in person and will also be live-streamed to allow a much larger audience to participate.

The organisation is the only state-owned entity that provides full banking and insurance services; is already fully regulated by the South African Reserve Bank and other banking industry regulators; and is fully committed to ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

With a distribution network of 38 branches in KZN, Ithala offers a portfolio of business banking, personal banking, and insurance.
