RHENUS Logistics South Africa will give 15 young people the opportunity to gain much-need work experience in 2022 as part of their ongoing involvement with the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme.
The YES Programme was launched in 2018 as a joint initiative between government and the private sector to assist young people gain workplace experience.
The programme includes mentoring and regular assessments to track progress. On completion, candidates receive a curriculum vitae and reference letter.
Managing Director Dirk Goedhart says interns are employed for a year, and the programme  gives them a valuable opportunity to get hands-on experience in the logistics sector.
Candidates are identified from across the country following a stringent interviewing process. After a short induction, interns are placed in various departments within the company.
Thirty-three candidates completed Logistics Learnerships with Rhenus Logistics in 2019 and 2010
